The Leaning Tower of Pisa

Dionne & Graham of Saskatchewan write: We travelled to Italy this year after returning from the beautiful island of Providenciales, an island we fell in love with and now call our home away from home. As a four time cancer survivor I have found this island and its wonderful people to be a blessing to my health and happiness. Stress is not a word to be even used on the island as far as we are concerned because once you land you must put yourself on island time and just relax and enjoy the view. Special shout out to our Friday night crew, Todd, Leslie, Michelle, Keisha, Alwood, Nalini, Clive, Phillip, Sandra and Mr. Joe. Hello's to Fraz, Lucille Lightbourne head of the Cancer Society on Provo, Mama and family at Mama's gift shop, Cleo and Art. These are just a few of the amazing people who have made our stay always wonderful on the island and made us feel like we are at home. This shot is at the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Quite the structure.

Chester, England

This photo of Robin Raphael was taken in Chester England. Robin recently completed a six month contract based in Providenciales as a marine surveyor/consultant to the Turks and Caicos government. Known locally as The White Inspector, Robin would be delighted to appear in your magazine. 11/07

St. Louis Cathedral, New Orleans

Sean & Cynthia write: We recently visited New Orleans, Louisiana and had a fabulous time. This was our first visit back since Hurricane Katrina, but the French Quarter was just as lively and vibrant as ever! It was great to return to this extraordinary city. My husband and I got married in a beautiful courtyard in the French Quarter back in May 2000, so this city holds a very special place in our hearts. Attached are some pics in Jackson Square, in front of the St. Louis Cathedral. 11/07

Sun Peaks Ski Resort, British Columbia

Richard sends this photo from Sun Peaks Ski Resort in British Columbia. He took the latest issue of "Where When How" with him to plan for his next vacation to Providenciales. (That was Richard on the March/April 2007 cover walking at Half Moon Bay!) 9/07

Quebec City, Canada

Audrey writes: Here is a picture of our family. Our parents are actually living in Providenciales for some months now and we wanted to give them a little souvenir of their last visit in Quebec City, Canada. This picture was shot in front of the "Château Frontenac" this spring on Mother's Day. - Audrey and Laurie with parents: Michel and Madeleine. 9/07

“2Hot4Ice” Raleigh North Carolina

Two teams, 25 children from the Turks & Caicos recently went to Raleigh North Carolina to compete in the USA National Games “2Hot4Ice”. Both teams did really well. Under 10's came back with the Bronze 3rd place and the under 12's missed the playoffs by one team. In the under 10s Scottie Glinton won the sharp shooter skills competition. Two boxes of “Where When How” magazines were distributed by the “Islanders” to future visitors. 9/07

Abuja, Nigeria

Bruce sends this photo taken recently in Abuja, Nigeria to which he took a copy of the March/April 2007 issue of "Where When How". 7/07

Burj al Arab, Dubai

Karyn, a former contributor to “Where When How” (formerly living on Providenciales) sent this photo from Dubai. The picture was taken at the Souk Madinat Jumeirah - a 'souk' is an Arabian Market Place - with the Burj al Arab in the background. The Burj is the World's Tallest Hotel and the World's only Seven Star Resort. In a city of many 'world's biggest/ largest/ tallest/ longest', the Burj stands out as the ultimate in luxury and architechtural design. 7/07

Whistler Mountain, British Columbia, Canada

Kathy and Gregg from Grafton, Wisconsin write: Attached are three photos of us on the top of Whistler Mountain, British Columbia, Canada - one of the venues for the 2010 Winter Olympics. "Where When How" gave us warm thoughts while skiing on the 10 foot snow base at Whistler. 5/07

Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Tim, Tammy and Haley write: We recently visited the Turks and Caicos in February and loved it. We enjoyed time on both Provo and Parrot Cay with friends who have a had a home there for many years. We have included a picture of your great magazine from our home - a long way away, just west of Calgary, Alberta. As you can see our winter on the edge of the Canadian Rockies is a little different than on the islands. 5/07

Pitztal Glacier in Austria

This picture shows my friend Thomas (lying on the bench) and me, Bernd Dengel during our snowboard trip in Austria. We're both living in Augsburg, Germany. This pic was shot this year in January, at 3,100 m altitude at the Pitztal Glacier in Austria. I have visited Provo for the last 11 years. I want to say thanks to all the good people on Provo, my dear uncle Mr. Lou Wizemann, general manager at Comfort Suites, my loved mother Sieglinde, my dive-buddies from 'Big Blue', Hector and Mr. Audley Williams from Sunset Management. I love your island. 5/07

Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea

Michael from Vancouver writes: I took "Where When How" with me to the Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea (Dec 06). The photo is from the Freedom Bridge - across which 12,799 prisoners of war crossed to return to freedom after the Korean War. Needless to say, the DMZ is a world away from the peace and tranquility of the Turks and Caicos Islands! 3/07

Dorset Ontario, Canada

Peter Boyce writes: Here are some photos of two "Bad Bikers" taken in Canada near Dorset Ontario..... namely Scooter Bob and me.... we thought it might make one of the upcoming issues. 3/07

Dover, Pennsylvania

Bev and Craig write: We are sending this photo in hopes of winning a renewal subscription to WWH magazine. We hope you will enjoy the photo and may bring good memories of your autumn days in Lancaster county. "During a cool crisp Fall day while cleaning up leaves at our mountain home in Dover, PA, we took a break to read the latest Nov/Dec issue of Where When How." We stay current with TCI latest happenings by subscribing to 'Where When How' magazine, so when we return to visit Provo, we will know what is new and where to go! Looking forward to our visit this coming year and hope to hear from you soon! 1/07

Mount McKinley, Alaska

John and Ginger write: "Good Afternoon - We carried along your magazine on a hike in Alaska with Mt. McKinley in the background." 11/06

Wilmington, North Carolina

I would like to offer these photos of my brother-in law and soon to be sister-in-law. The lovely couple are to be married in Turks and Caicos on June 17. I came across your contest and thought what a wonderful idea - what better way to honor them if they happen to win! We used your magazine to assist in many aspects of wedding and recreation planning. We have 75 guests flying in from all over the US and will take part in many activities (fishing, snorkeling, scuba and golf) from June 14- 19. I took these photos in Wilmington, North Carolina last week as we relaxed while boating around Masonbourough and Figure Eight Island. 9/06
