England

Richard writes: I was lucky enough to be featured in the Readers Photos recently in Croatia and Montenegro. Please find attached a picture of our son, Jack, who built his Provo "BABE" just a few weeks ago - in England! It was meant to be Spring time, but 8 inches later, it felt like Christmas all over again! In August, we are lucky enough to be moving to Provo. We are having a house built on Grace Bay Beach, so won't have to suffer the snow for a while! Jack is looking forward to making new friends at The Ashcroft School. 7/06

Cape of Good Hope, South Africa

Mad Max and Dorothy write: As always when ever we travel abroad we not only think of all our happy times and good friends in Provo but also we carry a copy of 'WHERE WHEN HOW'. This year we spent two weeks in Southern Africa sightseeing in Cape Town then on to a Safari in Kruger Park near Johannesburg.
Whilst in Cape Town we took a tour to Cape Point on the Cape of Good Hope, which is the most southwestern point on the South African coast where the cold Atlantic Ocean meets the warm Indian Ocean. We also wanted to view Cape Town from Table Mountain but unfortunately the cable car was shut down due to high winds. Our only option was to charter a helicopter. It was only later that we discovered we'd signed up to fly in an ex US Marine Huey Helicopter of Vietnam War vintage, WOW! The 20-minute flight was awesome and truly reminiscent of the 'Apocalypse Now' era even down to the pop music blasting out of the craft's loud speakers. We flew with the doors open. Unfortunately with the tremendous downdraft created by the huge blades we were not allowed to carry any loose items so we had to leave our magazine behind, otherwise we'd have got the photo of the century with 'WHERE WHEN HOW' at 3500 feet with astounding views of Cape Town and Table Mountain in the background. 7/06

Savoy Hotel in London

Helen Reid writes: This picture was taken at the world famous Savoy Hotel in London where I spent time with my family for the festive Christmas season. My boyfriend and I now live on Provo and could not wait to get back here after two weeks in cold, grey, damp England, YUCKKK! 5/06

Crested Butte, Colorado

Lynne Pettman writes: This February I was invited to the Carter Center Winter Weekend, held at Crested Butte, Colorado. The purpose of the weekend is to gather friends of President and Mrs. Carter, who are affiliated with the the Carter Center in Atlanta. My contact with the President is Mr. Frank Coggins, a long time resident of TCI who has shown support for Jimmy Carter since before he was Governor of Georgia. Frank's daughter, Nancy Coggins Seymour (at left), was one of the original "Peanut Brigadiers" who President Carter quoted as "being the most important force in helping him to be elected to the Presidency." 5/06

Bemidji, Minnesota

Glenn & Vivien Johnson write: Yesterday my wife and I returned home from our annual winter pilgrimage to the TCI. We arrived home to Bemidji, Minnesota in the middle of a blinding blizzard and were ready to go back! Today dawned without a cloud in the sky. We had to take some pictures for you beside our Piper PA-18 SuperCub on skis. We are always in the Turks & Caicos for the first week of March. It makes the time between Christmas and March 1st go quickly and when we return home, spring is almost here! 5/06

Cicero, New York

We, Frank and Jodi and our two dogs "Turk" and "Caicos" are in a very far away place from you, we are in our living room in Cicero, New York, reading the 'Where When How'. We have visited the Turk and Caicos Islands many times and they have become our favorite by far. So much, we named our two dogs after them. Turk is the gold one and Caicos the black and white. We have also decided when we get our next puppy, it will be named Provo. Thank you for sending us your publication. We enjoy it a great deal. We are planning to visit your beautiful island again next year. 3/06

Positano, Italy

Jim writes: It's a gorgeous fall afternoon in the town of Positano in Italy's Amalfi coast, a perfect day to kick back and plan our spring trip to the Turks and Caicos. Here I am busily perusing the pages of 'Where When How' in search of the perfect Provo villa while enjoying the knockout views from the phenomenal roof deck atop the "Torre Trasita". No vast expanse of white beaches here though; will have to wait until our return to Grace Bay! 3/06

Galicia, Spain

Santiago and Pilar wrote: Hello to the friends of Turks & Caicos Islands and especially to the staff of the excellent magazine Where When How. We selected Turks & Caicos for our honeymoon in April and really enjoyed it. Now, we are reading your magazine in GALICIA, the northwest of Spain, close to the beautiful cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. 1/06

The Eye in London

Pauline of New York writes: On a recent trip to the "Eye" in London I took my Where When How magazine to show all my British friends where I go for rest and relaxation. I get to Provo 2-3 times a year and stay in Leeward where I kick back and rest after the fast pace here in N.Y. 1/06

Dubrovnik in Croatia / Sveti Stefan in Montenegro

Richard Affleck sends two amazing photos with his Where When How magazine: One overlooking the stunning city of Dubrovnik in Croatia, the hippest place to hang out in Europe right now!
The other is the island hotel of Sveti Stefan (St. Steven) in Montenegro. The island was an old fishing village many years ago and is now a hotel, using the tiny cottages as rooms, linked by the narrow streets. It's a real gem! 1/06
